BUENOS AIRES, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Wolverhampton Wanderers have joined the race to sign Racing Club teenager Charly Alcaraz, according to media reports in Argentina.
The Premier League club has held preliminary talks with the Buenos Aires outfit with a view to signing the 19-year-old in the European summer transfer window, TyC Sports reported on Thursday.
It added that the midfielder has also attracted interest from Atletico Madrid, Sevilla, Juventus, Arsenal, Tottenham, Internazionale and Milan.
Alcaraz has made an impressive start to the 2022 Argentine domestic season with five goals and two assists from 17 matches so far. His performances have helped Racing to the semifinals of the first phase of the Primera Division.
Wolves currently have just two South American players in their squad: Brazilian wing-back Marcal and Colombian central defender Yerson Mosquera.
