LONDON, June 27 (Xinhua) -- Brentford has made Keith Andrews the club's new head coach with the former Irish international agreeing a three-year deal at the club.
44-year-old Andrews joined Brentford last summer as set-piece coach, and his work in that role has convinced the club to give him the task of replacing Thomas Frank following Frank's move to Tottenham after seven seasons with the club from the south-west of London.
As a player, Andrews played for clubs such as Wolverhampton Wanderers, Hull City, Ipswich Town, Blackburn Rovers and West Brom and also represented his country on 35 occasions.
"I'm very appreciative of the owner, the board and the staff that have supported this decision. It's an opportunity I feel I'm very capable of doing and ready to do," said Andrews on the Brentford website.
"There's so much: the potential of the football club, the potential of the players and the potential of the staff that underpin what has brought success to this brilliant football club," he added.
